The Easley High School varsity football team will take on Pickens at home Friday night. Kickoff is at 8:00 pm. The JV team will travel to Pickens on Thursday night to play at 7:00 pm. The C Team plays Hillcrest at home on Thursday at 7:00 pm.

Each week the Green Wave Football program changes and we also plan to feature a different EHS team each week. This week the Girls Cross Country team will be featured in the Green Wave football program including a team photo. Programs only cost $3.00 and all proceeds go to the booster club. So please help us spread the word.

We have the middle school and C team playing at home on Thursday and the big rivalry game with Pickens on Friday night. We are anticipating a large crowd and will need many volunteers. If you could help us on either Thursday or Friday night please reply to this email or contact Denny Owen.

The Easley High School Girls Cross Country team recently ran at the Western NC Cross Country Carnival. Emily Lewis placed 31st and Melissa Smith placed 51st out of 427 runners from 25 different schools who participated in the meet. Emily ran the 3.1 mile course in 21:17 while Melissa finished close behind in 21:48.

Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity volleyball teams kick off their regular season this week. Tuesday beginning at 5:30 pm for the JV matches and 7:00 pm for the Varsity. Both teams will play West Oak at home.

Come out and support the Green Wave Volleyball teams.

The Lady Green Wave won their first region match of the season against Laurens and added a win over last year's 5th ranked Byrnes Rebels on Thursday at Lakeside Country Club in Laurens. The final totals were Easley 157 (season low) Byrnes 199 and Laurens 224. Junior Kristi Goodman was medalist with a 37. Senior Kalie Goodman followed with a 38 and Sophomore Krista Massingill added a personal best 39. Senior Meredith Rice added a 44 that included the first ever hole-in-one in Lady Green Wave golf history. The girls are now 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the region. They play at Hanna on Tuesday and at home against Westside on Thursday. The JV's have added a match at Pickens on Tuesday.

Last week's meet at Sheppard Swim Center in Anderson was canceled. This week the team will swim in a meet at Fike Swim Center in Clemson.

The Easley Girl's tennis team started the season off with a win over Seneca last Thursday. The score for the match was 7-0. Coach Skip Smith and the team would like to thank Coach Carter and Todd McAlister for attending the match and supporting the team.

The team will play at Daniel and at Southside this week.

Memberships to the Green Wave Athletic Booster Club can be purchased this week at the Pickens game in the Green Wave Athletic Booster Club room located behind the home stands.

Don't forget the September meeting next week on September 14th.
