As the end of the school year approaches, we know many parents are giving added attention to grades. Don't forget that ParentLink is the place for parents to access grades, attendance and assignment information.

Registration Dates Announced For 2013 School Year
Attention Parents!

The registration and Meet the Teacher dates for the 2013-2014 school year are set. 

Meet the Teacher day and registration for all elementary schools will be Thursday, August 15 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Registration times for middle and high schools vary by school and by grade. For a complete list of times and dates for middle and high schools, take a look at the Meet the Teacher Schedule.

Welcome to Easley High School
SENIORS-FINAL TRANSCRIPTS
Any senior who needs a final transcript sent to a college must fill out a senior final transcript release form that includes the college/university where the transcript needs to be sent. These forms will be available at graduation practice on May 30th. These must be returned to EHS Guidance ASAP in order for your transcript to be sent! Additional forms will also be available in guidance.
EHS Student Declared Winner for Congressional Art Competition
Congratulations to Junior Hannah Laney on winning the 2013 Congressional Art Competition!  Hannah's painting, titled "Bright Idea" (pictured left), was chosen as the winning submission.  

Congressman Duncan released the following statement:
“I’d like to thank all of those who participated in the contest this year, and I’d like to congratulate the winner, Miss Hannah Laney.  I look forward to seeing her in Washington where she will have the opportunity to join other winners from across the country at the reception honoring their outstanding artwork.” 

Hannah received two round trip tickets from Greenville to Washington as her prize.  Great job!
EHS NJORTC Receives The Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors
 The Easley High School NJROTC received The Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors for the nineteenth year in a row.  When asked about this honor, LCDR Al Carden commented "...said to be the longest streak of its kind in the country.  It means we are in the top 30% of units in the nation."

 Way to go NJROTC! We are proud of you!

SPRING FLING THIS FRIDAY
Seniors will have a cap and gown picture made in the football stadium this Friday, May 17, at 9:00 a.m.  Please bring your cap and gown with you to school on Friday.  Please be in the stadium by 8:45 in order to line up for the picture.

After the picture, seniors will march in to Awards Day in their caps and gowns and sit together as a group .
SENIOR YEARBOOKS
Seniors will pick up their yearbooks right AFTER school on Thursday, May 16, in Mr. Fish's room (106).  ALL STUDENTS PICKING UP YEARBOOKS MUST HAVE AN I.D.  NO I.D., NO YEARBOOK!  A picnic will follow in the courtyard area outside the cafeteria.
World Language Honors!
Congratulations to six World Language students from Easley High School who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2013 National Spanish Examinations.

Six students from Easley High School earned silver and bronze placements along with eleven honorable mentions!

Attaining any placement or honorable mention is very prestigious because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with well over 150,000 students participations in 2013.

2013-14 Course Verifications
On Monday May 6th, students will receive course verification sheets for the 2013-14 school year in homeroom along with their quarter 4 progress report. These verification sheets will show the requested classes that have been entered for the 2013-14 school year. These are only requests -schedules will be picked up at registration which will be held during the summer. If there is a mistake listed on the verification sheet or if you would like to change a request that does not require a recommendation, please make the change directly on the form and return the form to guidance by Friday May 10th. After schedules are complete, changes will not be made unless there is an error so please make sure requests are correct!!

Alive at 25!
Students who wish to drive and park on campus are reminded of the new SDPC requirement that students must complete the “Alive at 25” driving class in order to purchase and receive a parking pass. Students may sign up to take the course at EHS, any other SDPC high school, or a high school in another district that offers the “Alive at 25” program. Cost for the course is $35.  More information about "Alive at 25" can be found here.
